Condition: Heavily used, but fully functional to a degree, replacement of older bypass caps and power supply caps will improve performance. Buyer may or may not receive the actual unit seen in these photos, they are representative of actual physical condition. Unit will be tested prior to shipping. Has AM Detector (BNC Input) option, but NOT the IMD option. May or may not be missing one input or output connector plastic insulator piece.

Description

Unit is complete, with internal power supply, but does not have any options other than the BNC input for RF. AM Detector Input, and Front Case has front panel protection protrusions on the left and right, both sides carry handles, also some scratches to the paint, and small dents. Unit needs full Calibration, and the 35 year old bypass tantalum capacitors replaced, and maybe some of the capacitors on the power supply board in order to meet original manufacturers operational specifications. Unit when tested reads in the -70 to -80 dB loopback condition when testing its own residual distortion. This should be closer to -95 dB so both Calibration and Capacitor replacement are needed. Comes with the Amber 3501 and 3500 OP / Service Manuals on CD-Rom which details the calibration process, provides valuable technical information, and has schematics.
