MMY245 Portable Hygrometer moisture GE DewPro

Description

Used GE DewPro MMY245 Portable Hygrometer, and manual.  Batteries (4, D-cell) NOT included.   To test- I put 4 D-cell batteries in, turned on, read -33.9. Open valve briefly, to up position , reading climbed to about -22, shut valve and value returned to 33.9.  Minor corrosion in battery compartment -see closeup photo.
Cosmetic
marks on housing. Last calibration June 2015, tag states calibration due in 2016., so assume a calibration is needed.
This was purchased from a chemical plant which shut down.
